Firearms left at The Alamo for armorer repair or FFL transfer must be picked up within the timeframes below. Unclaimed property may incur storage fees and, after extended non-pickup, may be considered abandoned and offered for resale in accordance with store policy.

This policy applies to armorer repair firearms and firearm transfers held at The Alamo.

• Once notified that the firearm is completed or has been received in the store, you have 30 days to pick up your merchandise.
• After 30 days, a $10 per day storage fee applies until the firearm is picked up or the value of the firearm or cost of labor has been exceeded.
• Once storage fees exceed the cost of labor and/or the value of the firearm, the firearm is considered abandoned and may be placed on the floor for resale.

Federal, state, and local laws govern every firearm purchase at The Alamo. Bring the correct identification and proof of address so our compliance team can process your transaction without delay. Contact compliance@alamorange.com with questions before you visit.

Items Necessary for a General Firearm Purchase

Driver's license, state-issued ID card with picture, or passport.
If your primary ID does not show your current address, you must also provide proof of address to complete a firearm purchase.

• Florida vehicle registration
• Florida fishing license
• County property tax form (must be in your name, not in the name of a trust)
• Florida hunting license

With only the identification and proof of address listed above, handgun purchases are subject to a 3–5 business day hold (weekends and holidays excluded).
To be exempt from the 3–5 business day hold, you must either hold a valid Florida Concealed Weapon License (CWL) or be trading in a handgun to purchase another handgun.
You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a handgun. You must also be at least 21 years of age to purchase a long gun at The Alamo.

Purchasers of firearms must be U.S. citizens or have a valid and up-to-date Alien Resident Card.

Alamo policy

The Alamo allows customers to purchase used handguns immediately after we acquire them in store.
Under Collier County Ordinance Code 2013-21, § 8, all secondhand goods cannot be sold until 30 days after acquisition. If a used firearm is placed on layaway before the 30-day period ends, the customer must return only after 30 days have passed to complete ATF Form 4473 and undergo a background check.
If the customer does not have a Florida CWL and the used gun is a handgun, the date the Form 4473 is completed begins the 3–5 business day hold.

You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a firearm at The Alamo. Our team verifies age and eligibility at the time of purchase in accordance with federal and Florida law.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Alamo network processes incoming and outgoing FFL transfers at participating venues. Policies and fees vary by venue — review the sections below for your venue.

• Handguns & long guns: $60 for the first item (actual shipping cost applies for multiple items).
• By law, handguns MUST be shipped 2-Day Air.
• Long guns ship ground unless otherwise specified.
• Insurance available at $1 per hundred-dollar value.
• Hawaii and Alaska incur actual shipping costs.
• Transfer fees apply to firearms NOT purchased at The Alamo.

• Include the receiving customer's name and contact number with all incoming transfers.
• Delivery notifications from carriers do NOT mean the item is ready for pickup — wait for contact from a transfer agent.
• Transfers are processed Tuesday – Friday, in order received. Allow up to 7 business days for processing (longer during high volume).
• 30 calendar days to pick up; after that, $10/day storage fee per firearm until pickup or abandonment policy applies.
• Accepts transfers from FFL dealers and private individuals (private transfers require sender's driver's license with current physical address).

• Valid Florida driver's license or state ID with current physical address (FDLE requirement).
• Other acceptable proof of residency: FL vehicle registration, voter registration, or hunting/fishing license.
• 3–5 business day waiting period for handguns, rifles, and shotguns (varies by county), unless a valid Florida CWL is presented.

• Outgoing transfers ship only to another FFL; handguns ship 2nd Day Express.
• Firearms purchased at The Alamo and shipped within 30 days incur shipping fees only; transfer fees apply after 30 days or for firearms not purchased here.
• All outgoing firearms require a hard case (purchased on site or provided by customer).

• All transfers must arrive with valid paperwork.
• Allow up to 48 hours after arrival before your order is ready.
• Valid Florida ID with current physical address required.

Privacy Policy

The Alamo Range return policy varies by product category. Review the sections below before your purchase. The Alamo reserves the right to refuse a return and refund of any item that does not conform to these guidelines or is deemed repackaged in a fraudulent manner.

• Inspect all firearms thoroughly before completing your ATF Form 4473. Once a new firearm is transferred, it is considered used — even if unfired.
• All firearms purchased from The Alamo are not returnable or refundable.
• The Alamo handles warranty claims on NEW firearms for the first year after purchase, including armorer labor, freight, and transfer fees, as a service to our customers.
• Used firearms purchased at The Alamo are evaluated by our armorer and repaired at no cost to the customer for 30 calendar days after purchase.

• Returns on accessories are accepted within 10 business days of purchase with the original receipt.
• Refunds are issued in the same manner as the original purchase. Cash refunds over $100.00 are refunded by check within 14 calendar days of return.
• All returns must be in new, undamaged condition in original packaging, including accessories, manuals, documentation, and registration included with the product.

• For hygienic reasons, we cannot accept returns on: next-to-body holsters such as bellybands; apparel that has been worn, laundered, or is without tags; Can-Can specialized female holsters; and all ear and eye protection.
• For safety and liability reasons we cannot accept returns of: ammunition, primers, smokeless powder, exploding targets, and any other explosive or hazardous materials including cleaning fluids.
• Any product cut out of its cardboard or plastic clamshell-type packaging.

Classes and private instruction are non-refundable. Students who wish to reschedule must notify training at least 24 hours in advance at dpatterson@alamorange.com. No-shows and last-minute cancellations do not receive credit for another class.
